Family, this one's different. This one comes with a sadden heart. Today, we learned about the the tragic loss of my big brother - Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Now I know we never met, but sometimes people touch your life in ways that make them family, and that's exactly what Malcolm did for me and millions of young Black men through his portrayal of Theo Huxtable.
This isn't just about nostalgia, family. This is about the power of representation, the reality of legacy, and how tomorrow isn't promised for any of us. I'm sharing how Theo's character literally changed the trajectory of my life - from struggling with grades to embracing education, from hiding my intelligence to today teaching others. I even talk about recreating that famous father and son "Monopoly money" conversation with my own son, proving that some lessons are truly timeless.
But here's the real challenge I'm putting out there: What mark are you leaving on this world? You don't need to be on TV or have millions of followers to impact lives. Sometimes it's as simple as planting a tree, teaching someone something new, or being the positive example someone else needs to see.
