Wind Down Wednesday - More Than Just Hug 'The Needed Accountability And Love'

In this episode, I'm talking about why we all need people in our lives who will pull up on us and stand in the gap, but who will also be there with open arms. This message is especially important now, as we navigate challenging times in our community and nation. We talk about a powerful video I recently came across of a young man being scolded by an older figure, and it sparked a lot of thoughts about how we can support one another, especially our youth.  We're talking about the importance of accountability and love in our communities. 

We all know that tough love can be hard to hear, but it's often what we need to grow and become better versions of ourselves. I share my thoughts on mentorship and how vital it is for us to step up and guide the younger generation. It's not just about pointing out mistakes; it's about showing love and support, helping them understand that they are better than their current circumstances.

Throughout this episode, I dive into what I call "retrospect" - that crucial moment after someone checks you, when you need to put your ego aside and really hear what they're saying. I encourage you to embrace constructive criticism and see it as a form of love. We all need those virtual hugs and moments of accountability in our lives.
