Well, thanks for tuning in! I've got a feeling you're going to love this episode. This time, we're shaking things up a bit. We've got the one and only Mr. Moody taking over on this Motivational Monday with a timeless message from Next Door Neighbor Radio. Now, don't you fret! It's not gardening advice we're dishing out here today.
Mr. Moody is breaking down an awesome metaphor for us, something he likes to call 'Watering Your Plants.' What he's talking about isn't your average rosebush or fern, nah. Instead, he's referring to the various parts of our lives that need our attention and care to grow and thrive.
You've got your health, your relationships, your dreams of starting a business, your friends, your family, and let's not forget about nurturing the young ones coming up behind us. These are the 'plants' we need to be watering, folks. So join us as we dive deep into Mr. Moody's garden of wisdom and see how we can start watering our own plants to make our lives flourish.

Wine Down Wednesdays - From Raindrops to Wisdom!
Wednesday Jun 21, 2023
Wednesday Jun 21, 2023
Hey there, it's your boy Cousin ED. I know that like me, you probably consume a lot of information and content on a daily basis. From social media to news articles and podcasts, it can be easy to get lost in the endless stream of information. But have you ever stopped to think about how you're using that information and content for good? In this episode of Cousin ED's Corner, I reflect on the rain as a metaphor for the information and content we consume and encourage you to take time to rest and replenish yourself.
My message is simple but powerful: we all need time to recharge our batteries. Whether it's through meditation, spending time in nature, or simply disconnecting from technology for a while, taking time to rest and replenish ourselves is essential for our well-being. It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life, but I remind you that it's important to slow down and take care of yourself.
In addition to emphasizing the importance of rest and replenishment, I also announce my plan to organize a get-together for listeners, family, and friends of the show. This is a great reminder that while consuming information and content is important, it's equally important to connect with others and build community.
So the next time you find yourself scrolling through social media or binge-watching a new series on Netflix, take a moment to ask yourself how you're using that information and content for good. And remember, taking time to rest and replenish yourself is not only important, it's necessary for your overall well-being.

Motivation Monday - Fatherhood, Mentorship, and Redefining Success
Monday Jun 19, 2023
Monday Jun 19, 2023
On a recent episode of Cousin Ed's Corner, I talked about a play called GodsGuys that I watched this Father's Day weekend with my dad. It was a powerful experience that reminded me of the struggles that black men go through in life. I encourage you all to watch it too! 🎭
It's important to appreciate the people in our lives and seek help when needed, especially when it comes to mental health. Let's break the stigma and create a space for people to connect, learn from each other, and communicate. 💬
This Father's Day weekend was a time for me to reflect on my relationship with my own father and my experience as a father myself. I realized the importance of being present in my kid's lives and giving back to the community by mentoring and coaching.🙏🏾
I want to encourage all the dads out there to prioritize your children and focus on what you can do for them, rather than what you can get for yourself. Let's be positive role models and do something for the least of those who may not have a father figure in their household. 🙌🏾

Wine Down Wednesdays - ’Story Time w Uncle Jessie - Put the Paper Down!!!’
Wednesday Jun 14, 2023
Wednesday Jun 14, 2023
🎙️I'm back with another episode of "Cousin Ed's Corner". Today, I want to talk about someone very special to me - my uncle Jessie. He just turned 88 years old today and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on his impact on my family and friends.
My uncle Jessie is a true gem. He helped our family transition from the South to New York City and has always been a source of support for many. He has a heart of gold and is always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. I have so many personal stories about him that I could share, but I'll just stick to a few in this episode.
Today I wanted to use my platform to honor him and encourage others to reach out to senior citizens and make them feel seen and heard. Our elders have so much wisdom and experience to share, and it's important that we take the time to listen to them and learn from them.
So if you're listening to this episode, I encourage you to reach out to the senior citizens in your life and let them know how much you appreciate them. Use the hashtag #HonoringElders and #CousinEdsCorner to share your stories and spread the love. 🙌👴👵💕

Motivational Monday - Refilling Your Engine ’The Importance of Self-Care’
Monday Jun 12, 2023
Monday Jun 12, 2023
👋 In this podcast episode of Cousin Ed's Corner Motivational Monday - Refilling Your Engine 'The Importance of Self-Care', I want to talk about something that's really important to me: taking care of our bodies and minds. 💪
Think of it like this: our bodies are like engines in a car. If we don't take care of them, they can break down and cause bigger problems down the line. That's why it's so important to get regular check-ups and maintenance. 🚗
I want to encourage you to make sure you're getting annual physicals and routine check-ups, and to seek help when you're not feeling emotionally or mentally well. 🩺
But it's not just about the big things. It's also important to prioritize self-care by doing small things that make you feel good, like going to the chiropractor or getting a massage. 💆♀️
So, here's my challenge to you: take responsibility for your own self-care and set up an appointment to do something for yourself this week. You deserve it! ❤️

👋 In this episode of Fabulous Fridays - The Greatest Gift 'Celebrating Our Children's Growth and Maturity', I talked about my mixed emotions on my daughter's birthday. 😔😍 It's bittersweet to see her grow up so fast, but at the same time, I'm so proud of the young woman she's becoming.
I also emphasized the importance of inspiring and cultivating the next generation of young adults. 💪 It's our responsibility to guide them and help them reach their full potential. I truly believe that they are the future, and we need to invest in them.
During the episode, I shared a story about a friend of the show whose daughter left for the military. As it was a difficult time for them, I prayed for their family. It reminded me of the sacrifices that our military families make every day, and I'm grateful for their service.
As always, I pray for our youth and every one of you. 🙏 I ask for God's continued blessings and guidance, and that you feel encouraged and uplifted.
Overall, life is Fabulous, and so let's be grateful for every moment of it. ❤️ Thanks for tuning in, and I'll catch you on the next episode!

Wind Down Wednesday - Special Episode: What’s Love Got to Do with It?
Wednesday May 31, 2023
Wednesday May 31, 2023
Hello fam, it's your boy Cousin Ed, back with another one! This Wednesday, we're doing something a little different. We're getting deep, diving into the nitty-gritty of relationships – the good, the bad, and the downright toxic. Let's chill and chat, just like in the old times.
I found my mind wandering to the remarkable life of the Queen herself – Tina Turner. This woman, a powerhouse of rock and soul, went through trials that would break most. Born into a sharecropper's family, she met a man named Ike who saw potential in her. Ike took her under his wing, crafting her into the phenomenal Tina Turner we all came to love. But the man who birthed her career was also her worst tormentor. That's a twisted paradox, ain't it?
It ain't just Tina who's faced this harsh paradox. Remember the King of Pop, Michael Jackson? His own father, the man who built the stepping stones to his success, was a source of toxicity in his life. And let's not forget our girl Beyonce, who had to cut ties with her father despite the crucial role he played in her rise to stardom. It seems fame has its own price, doesn't it?
It's strange how life works sometimes. The same people who bring out the best in us professionally can be the very ones who drag us down personally. They can mold us, push us to the brink of our potentials, yet leave us damaged in the process. It's like being stuck in a bittersweet symphony, caught between the need to evolve and the urge to preserve your wellbeing.
We all hear stories about how it's isn't easy to leave a toxic relationship. Fear grips you – fear of losing status, comfort, even fear of the unknown. But look at Tina Turner and so many other courageous individuals. Many who have found the courage to step away, to reclaim their lives. And it's a testament that you can too.
Stepping away from toxicity doesn't mean the end. It's just a new beginning. Just like a phoenix, you can rise from the ashes, rebuild, and redefine yourself. It might not be an easy journey, but it's a journey towards a healthier, happier you.
Don't suffer in silence, fam. Reach out, speak up. There are resources available, life coaches, therapists, friends who can help guide you through your situation.
As I wrap up this Wind Down Wednesday, remember this: your worth isn't defined by anyone else. You're strong, you're capable, and you're worthy of love and respect. And most importantly, you're not alone. Stay strong and take care of yourselves.

Welcome back to Cousin Ed's Corner Podcast: Motivational Monday - Honoring Those Who Have Made the Ultimate Sacrifice 'A Memorial Day Reflection'! Today, as we remember the brave veterans and first responders who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, let us also take a moment to pray for each of them. Let us pray for blessings, peace, and mercy for all those who have lost loved ones. We also pray for all those who continue to serve and protect our country.
As we reflect on the selflessness of these heroes, let us also remember the selflessness of Jesus Christ and the true ultimate sacrifice he gave that should NEVER be forgotten. His sacrifice is like a beacon of light that illuminates the path of our spiritual progress and prosperity. He has left an indelible mark on our hearts and our history. His sacrifice is a testament to the enduring spirit of humanity, and a reminder of the power of sacrifice to inspire us to greatness.

Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - Never Give up ’The Commencement’
Friday May 26, 2023
Friday May 26, 2023
Welcome back to Cousin Ed's Corner,
Today I wanted to share a YouTube clip of Deshauna Barber commencement speech on Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - Never Give up 'The Commencement'. In this episode, Deshauna shares her story of perseverance and not giving up on her goals. She talks about how she was initially reluctant to enter beauty pageants but was encouraged to do so. Despite facing multiple losses, Deshauna was determined to keep going and not quit.
Deshauna uses her personal experience of falling during a race because her shoes were too big as a metaphor for not being ready to achieve our aspirations. She encourages graduates to pace themselves on their journey and not fear failure, but to be terrified of regret. Deshauna acknowledges that we will face many rejections and failures, but urges us to not take no for an answer and to keep pushing forward. She even welcomes rejection as fuel to work harder towards her goals.
I also want to emphasize the importance of perseverance and share that as many Nos' as you get, all you need is one "Yes." I encourage you to continue to fight and not let any challenge hold them back.
Deshauna's message is clear: "Believe in your aspirations and don't be afraid of the word No, but instead welcome it as an opportunity to work harder." If you want to be inspired by Deshauna's story and learn more about perseverance, check out this clip featuring Deshauna Barber on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w71aDaGAtHs from Bright Sun.

Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - The Foundation
Friday May 19, 2023
Friday May 19, 2023
I'm absolutely thrilled to share with you another episode of "Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - The Foundation" that, I hope, will light up your day with encouragement, fresh insights, and of course, heartfelt prayers. But before we get rolling, let's take a moment to express our deep gratitude. I'm eternally thankful to God for the idea of "Cousin Ed's Corner," to the amazing team behind this show's production, and most importantly, to you, our treasured family who tune in and support us week after week.
In today's episode, I want to stress the importance of self-understanding and establishing a solid foundation in life. Whether it's through prayer or meditation, we all need to find an anchor when life's storms hit us. I firmly believe that even in our darkest hours, we can pull through with God's help and a bit of introspection.
With the fast-paced rhythm of our daily lives, it's easy to overlook the simple joys - like a sunny Friday. So, I'm here to remind you to honor and praise God at every opportunity, not just when times get tough. This is the essence of "Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - The Foundation" - finding positivity in every situation and persisting forward.
I want you to remember that you're more than just fans to us - you're family. We aim to offer you wisdom, diverse perspectives, and most importantly, encouragement. For us, podcasting is a form of therapy. We deeply value our connection with you and cherish every message and review we receive.
As summer break rolls around, I'd like to extend a prayer for all families and children listening in. Let's ask for God's protection and guidance during this fun, yet potentially challenging time. As your prayer warrior, I pray for God to walk beside you, in front of you, behind you, and above you. I pray for guidance, companionship, shelter, and for God to make His presence felt even in the shadows.
And remember, if you've survived today, tomorrow can only get better. So don't stress about the future. Just take it one day at a time, with prayer and guidance. I believe that with the right mindset and foundation, you can overcome anything.
Thanks for tuning in, FAM. I hope you have a fantastic weekend and I'm eager to connect with you again next week.

🎧📝🎙️I'm your host, Cousin Ed, and on today's episode of 'When My Sistah Wins, We All!!, we're going to be talking about empowering our Sistahs and prioritizing Self-care.
I'm excited to introduce my guest, Coach Jazemine, a life coach and manager in the healthcare field. She's also a mother that's from the Bay Area in California. Coach Jazemine shares her experiences and insights on setting boundaries, mindset, and the importance of self-care.
Throughout our conversation, we discussed the challenges that women face in society, including racism and sexism. We also talked about the different levels of support available for individuals seeking help with their mental health. Coach Jazemine emphasizes the need for safe spaces where women can share their experiences and find support from women that might be going through similar challenges.
We also discuss the importance of vulnerability and transparency, particularly for women of color who may have been conditioned to keep their struggles to themselves. Coach Jazemine encourages women to be open and transparent about their struggles and help each other overcome them collectively.
Coach Jazemine also shares her tips on making time for oneself and developing a habit of self-care. She recommends starting with just three to five minutes a day and gradually increasing the time to 30 minutes a day.
Overall, this episode offers a glimpse into the world of life coaching and the importance of self-care. As we also say, "When My Sistah Wins, We All Win!!"

Monday May 15, 2023
🎙️ On today's Motivational Monday episode of "Cousin Ed's Corner," we're talking all about supporting each other, especially the incredible mothers in our lives.
In my own journey, I've learned that life isn't a solo act. We need each other to thrive, to grow, and to make it through the tough times. This world can seem like it's every person for themselves, but remember, it takes a village not only to raise a child, but also to build a nurturing community.
This episode is a special shout-out to all the mothers out there. 🎉 I want to acknowledge the monumental role you play every day, the sacrifices you make, and the profound influence you have on our lives. You, dear moms, are the real MVPs. 🏆 But even MVPs need a support system. That's why it's crucial for us to step up and be there for you, just like you've always been there for us.
I'm inviting you all to not only appreciate the mothers in your lives, but also lend a helping hand to those in your community. A little empathy, a little kindness can create a ripple effect of positivity in our society. By supporting each other, especially our moms, we're fostering a culture of growth, respect, and love. 💐💞
As I wrap up this episode, I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of you. 🙏 Thanks for tuning in and making "Cousin Ed's Corner" what it is. Your support means the world to me. 🌐💗 Let's take the lessons from this episode and be the catalyst for positive change in our own corners of the world. 🚀💡
