Now, let's get into it. In this episode, I want to talk about something that hits close to home for me - the impact of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on this nation. It's a story that I've shared once before, and I hope it still resonates with you.
I'll be sharing my personal experience during that time, including the heart-wrenching moments when I couldn't reach my mother. The overwhelmed phone lines made it nearly impossible to connect, and the fear and uncertainty were overwhelming.
Now, I want to acknowledge that my story is not as tragic as those who lost loved ones or had family members working in the World Trade Center. My heart goes out to them, and I want to honor their strength and resilience.
During this episode, I also want to highlight the bravery of our first responders and the importance of documenting personal stories. It's through these stories that we can truly understand the impact of such tragic events and honor the lives affected.
But it doesn't stop there. I have a special guest on the show - my mother. She shares her own experience during that time, and together, we discuss the fear and anger that was directed towards individuals of Middle Eastern descent after the attacks. It's an important conversation that needs to be had, and I'm grateful to have my mother's perspective.
As we wrap up, I want to leave you with a message of gratitude and resilience. It's through adversity that we find our strength, and it's important to remember that even in the darkest times, there is always light.
