Motivational Monday - Who Will Lift You Up? (The Power of Six to Eight)
Monday Apr 17, 2023
Monday Apr 17, 2023
In today's episode of Cousin Ed's Corner, we'll dive deep into the life-changing magic of having people who uplift us in our lives. Inspired by a thought-provoking TikTok posted by @imper4ectlyper4ect, about how it takes six to eight pallbearers to lift a deceased person and how having six to eight people to lift you up while you're alive is equally important. We'll explore the power of having six to eight people lifting us up while we're living, not just at our funerals. Remember, the energy you put out into the world is the energy you'll receive. Let's be a support system for others and create a circle of uplifters!
Lastly, I want to encourage listeners to reflect on the people in their lives who lift them up and to be selfless in helping others. I also told a touching story about the Boston Marathon bombing and a young boy named Martin Richard who died in the bombing. His friends ran the marathon in his honor ten years later. It was their way of lifting him up.
Who will lift you up?

Easter Reflections: Gratitude and Thanks for a New Beginning
Sunday Apr 09, 2023
Sunday Apr 09, 2023
This podcast episode is a bonus session of Cousin Ed's Corner - Thank God For Everything: 'Easter Reflections: Gratitude and Thanks for a New Beginning'. Easter is a special time for me to reflect and renew myself. It's a time to remember the sacrifice of Jesus and the power of resurrection. As I listened to a few church services this morning, I am reminded that Easter is not just a holiday, but a metaphor for the opportunity for change and rebirth in our own lives.
I want us to remember the importance of perseverance in the face of doubt and hardship. I know that it can be easy to feel like giving up when others doubt me or say that something is impossible. However, I must remember each of you that Jesus has RISEN and we have the opportunity to do something new in our lives each and every day.
Through the power of his resurrection, we are reminded of the Love that God has for us. Even in the face of suffering and adversity, we can have faith in the Love of God and know that we are not alone. This love can inspire you to overcome obstacles and make positive changes in your life.

GMWA Mass Choir
For god so loved the world
That he gave his only begotten son
The son gave his life for me
When he died on calvary
There is no greater love
No love nowhere, no greater love
Than a man would lay down his life for a friend
No love nowhere, I’ve searched all over
There is no greater love
There is no greater love
There is no greater love
No greater love
No greater love
Than a man would lay down his life for a friend
No greater love
No greater love
No greater love
No greater love
No greater love
No greater love
No greater love
No greater love
Jesus went to calvary
To save a wrench
Like you and me
That’s love, that’s love
They hung him high
They strecthed him wide
He hung his head, and then he died
That’s love, that’s love
That’s not how the story ends
Three days later he rose again
That’s love, that’s love

Friday Apr 07, 2023
In this episode, I discuss Good Friday, Passover, and the importance of being selfless. I feel grateful and inspired to be more selfless in my daily life. I talk about how the selfless acts of individuals throughout history can serve as a reminder to us all. Let's remember the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus and the significance of the Passover. I also mention professions such as first responders, armed service members, nurses, and teachers who make selfless acts a part of their daily lives.
One of the key takeaways from this episode is the importance of sacrifice and being selfless. I emphasize that this is not just for those who are equal to us, but for the least of these. I provide examples of how we can be more selfless, such as donating time, preparing food, and cleaning up a community.
I also introduced the concept of "pitching pennies," where every good deed is like pitching a penny into a fountain, and eventually, the fountain will be filled with our good deeds. This is a great reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference.
This episode is a great reminder for us to reflect on the blessings we have in our lives and to be grateful for them. Additionally, I encourage each listener to think about ways to be more selfless and less selfish. Whether it's making a phone call to check on someone or volunteering in their community, we all must strive to be more selfless in someway.
So, are you willing to be selfless? Let this episode serve as a reminder to do something for someone else, even if it's just a small act of kindness.
If you are looking for more positivity and connection, please consider joining the Cousin Ed's Corner Telegram group and also by leaving the show a voicemail. Let's all strive to be selfless and make the world a better place.

When My Sistah Wins We All Win - Changing The Trajectory ft. Dr. Shanté Holley
Wednesday Mar 29, 2023
Wednesday Mar 29, 2023
In this episode of Cousin Ed's Corner "When My Sistah Wins We All Win - Changing The Trajectory", I'm excited to be joined by Dr. Shanté Holley, a certified life coach, scholar, professor, and soon-to-be author. She is also the host of her own podcasts, Whole & Complete and Believing Bigger.
Dr. Holley is an expert in helping people live the best and highest versions of themselves. She believes that this doesn't just have to be kept in the spiritual space, but it can also be engaging, with therapy and counseling, positive psychology and approaches to live that life as well. In this episode, Dr. Holley shares her insights on how to become the best and highest version of yourself, and how it can impact the people around you.
Dr. Holley challenges every listener to ask themselves, "what are you making yourself available for? What are you making yourself available for this year? And are those things going to help you become the best and highest version of yourself? And anything that is not helping you become the best and highest version of yourself, you need to reevaluate whether or not you should be available for that."
During our conversation, Dr. Holley and I discussed the importance of self-reflection and self-awareness. She emphasized the significance of taking the time to understand your values, your goals, and your strengths in order to create a plan for your life. By focusing on your strengths, you can work towards becoming the best version of yourself and achieving your goals.
We also talked about the importance of celebrating the success of others, particularly women. Dr. Holley stressed that when one woman wins, we all win. It's important to lift each other up, support each other, and celebrate each other's successes.
Dr. Holley shared some inspiring stories of women who have achieved incredible success by focusing on their strengths and supporting each other. She also discussed the challenges that women face in the workplace and the importance of advocating for ourselves and each other.
Throughout the episode, Dr. Holley shared many concrete examples to illustrate her points, making it easy for listeners to understand and apply her advice in their own lives.
This episode is a must-listen for anyone who wants to live the best and highest version of themselves. Dr. Holley's insights are practical, inspiring, and empowering. Her message is clear: when we focus on our strengths, support each other, and celebrate each other's successes, we can all win. So, join us for this incredible conversation, and let's change the trajectory together.

Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - ’The Time You Can’t Get Back’ Matthew 6:34
Friday Mar 24, 2023
Friday Mar 24, 2023
In this episode of 'Thank God For Everything (TGIF)', I talk about a topic that we can all relate to: TIME. Specifically, I dive into the concept of time that we can never get back. It's easy to get caught up in the past or the future, but the present moment is all we truly have.
Drawing from Matthew 6:34, I share some insights on how we can better appreciate and make the most of the time we have. I also touch on the importance of balancing productivity with rest and self-care, as well as the value of being present and mindful in each moment.
As always, I offer practical tips and personal anecdotes to make this message accessible and actionable. Whether you're struggling with time management or just looking for some inspiration to live more fully in the present, this episode has something for you.
I've learned that worrying about tomorrow can take away from today's enjoyment. We can never get back the time we spend worrying, stressing, or being negative. Instead, we should focus on being grateful for the present moment and making the most of it. Every Second Counts!!!
So join me in exploring the topic of time that we can't get back, and learn how to make the most of each precious moment. Don't forget to subscribe and share with anyone who could use a little reminder to appreciate the present.

When My Sistah Wins We All Win - ft. Dr. Dee Poe
Wednesday Mar 22, 2023
Wednesday Mar 22, 2023
Welcome to another episode of Cousin Ed's Corner, where we continue to highlight dynamic Sistahs who are making a positive impact in our world. In this episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Dee Poe about her organization, GlassSoldiers.org, and the remarkable work she is doing to eliminate military sexual trauma.
Dr. Dee's organization is dedicated to eliminating sexual assault in the military, and she is committed to being both duty-bound and data-driven in her efforts. During our conversation, she bravely shared her own experiences with sexual violence and domestic abuse, and spoke candidly about the reasons she is so passionate about helping other service moms, wives, and aunts deal with these issues within the ranks of the military.
It's crucial for all of us to understand the prevalence of sexual and domestic violence, not only on the home front, but also within our armed forces. Dr. Dee's work is critical in combatting the culture of pervasive sexual violence, sexual harassment, and retribution against victims that has unfortunately been allowed to persist within the military.
I urge all of our listeners to tune in to this episode and to support Dr. Dee and GlassSoldiers.org in their efforts to end the epidemic of rape and sexual trauma within the armed forces. This work is important, impactful, and necessary, and we must all do our part to ensure that it continues. Thank you for joining us on Cousin Ed's Corner, and until next time, stay safe and stay tuned.

Monday Mar 20, 2023
Monday Mar 20, 2023
On today's episode of Motivational Monday, I want to talk about what to do when it's sometimes difficult to stay motivated.
Let's face it, we all have those days where we wake up feeling like today is not the day or we just don't want to get out of bed. And that's okay. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging that feeling. But what's important is that we continue to go on.
One way to stay motivated is to seek outside affirmations or people who can help motivate us past that point. Sometimes, using our outside resources can help get us up and going.
Another significant factor is knowing that God is on our side. When we have faith and trust in Him, we can be motivated to keep moving forward.
Lastly, let's remember the least of them and help others. Sometimes, helping others can motivate us and remind us of the greater purpose in life.
So, when you're feeling unmotivated, don't give up. Seek outside help, trust in God, and remember the power of helping others.

When My Sistah Wins We All Win: Mama Said Moments with Pamela Harris
Wednesday Mar 15, 2023
Wednesday Mar 15, 2023
Welcome to Cousin Ed's Corner, where we bring you inspiring stories and insightful conversations that will leave you feeling empowered and motivated. In this episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with the amazing Pamela Harris about her book, Mama Said Moments: 10 Things to Remember When Life Gets Hard.
Pam shares how the inspiration for her book came after her mother's sudden passing during heart surgery. Despite the difficulties, her mother had unwavering faith and trust in God, which left a lasting impact on Pam. Her mother's passing left her with deep sadness, but she also remembered the way her mom could bring a smile to people's faces during tough times.
Through her grief counseling sessions, Pam realized that her mother had left her with many life lessons and decided to share them with the world in her book. Mama Said Moments is a heartfelt and inspiring guide that reminds us of the importance of having faith, staying positive, and seeking help when needed.
During our conversation, Pam shared some of the key takeaways from her book, including the importance of cherishing your loved ones, being present in the moment, and having a positive mindset. She also emphasized the importance of seeking help when life gets tough, whether it's through counseling, therapy, or talking to a trusted friend or family member.
This episode is a must-listen for anyone who is struggling through a tough time or looking for inspiration and guidance on how to overcome life's challenges. So, make sure to tune in and share your feedback with us.

Motivational Monday - Be Easy ft. Qiana Howell
Monday Mar 13, 2023
Monday Mar 13, 2023
I was thrilled to have Qiana Howell join me on this week's episode of Cousin Ed's Corner. As a woman who has achieved so much, Qiana emphasized the importance of Being Easy on oneself in the pursuit of success. She spoke about how social media and television can create unrealistic expectations. We must remember that successful people have endured through their fair share of setbacks, rejections, and failures.
During our conversation, Qiana highlighted how life can throw unexpected obstacles in our paths, serving as distractions and barriers to our success. However, she urged listeners to continue being easy on themselves as they strive to reach their goals. Her words really resonated with me, and I'm sure they will inspire many others to take a more forgiving approach to their journey.
Qiana's message was clear: we need to be patient and kind to ourselves, as well as believe in the power of God. By keeping faith, we can overcome any challenge and achieve our dreams. Her advice was particularly pertinent during Women's History Month, as we reflect on the progress that women have made and the challenges we still face.
As always, I encourage you to leave feedback for the show, and I'm excited to hear their thoughts on this episode. I'm sure it will resonate with many, and I can't wait to see the positive impact it has.

In this episode of Cousin Ed's Corner, I had the pleasure of talking to Jamila Moore, a successful business attorney and IP attorney. Jamila shared with us her inspiring journey of becoming a lawyer, and how she founded I AM MOORE CONSULTING LLC. She talked about her childhood aspirations of wanting to make money and get out of LA, and how she found her passion for justice. Jamila shared her experiences of teaching in Brooklyn's lower-income neighborhoods and how that shaped her as a lawyer. We discussed the importance of protecting a business's intellectual property and brand, and how Jamila helps her clients to do that. This episode is a must-listen for anyone interested in law, entrepreneurship, and Women's History Month.
Jamila Moore, M. Ed. Esq., founded I AM & More®
