We're talking about how to find God in the most unexpected places – like your local gas station – and how those small moments can spark a chain reaction of goodness. I'm also opening up about a recent memorial service I attended, and how it got me thinking about the legacy we leave behind. Are we touching lives? Are we making a difference? These are the questions we're exploring together.
But it's not all heavy stuff, fam. I talk about my "Pinching Pennies" philosophy – and no, it's not about being cheap! It's about how those little acts of kindness can add up to make a big splash in this world. We're also getting real about the importance of having someone to lean on during tough times. Wednesday Aug 14, 2024
Wednesday Aug 14, 2024
On today's episode, we take you on a trip down memory lane . I opened up and shared some personal stories from my college basketball days—back when I was just a young teenager from Brooklyn with big dreams. I’ll be talking about the ups and downs I faced, from being recruited to play ball in Georgia to dealing with the challenges of redshirting and adjusting to a new life down South.
But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. I’ll also dive into the financial struggles that came with losing my coach and scholarship, and the tough decisions I had to make to keep my dream alive. The journey didn’t stop there, though. I eventually found my way to Pennsylvania, where I faced one of the biggest challenges of my life—a severe ankle injury that almost ended my basketball career. But you know what? I didn’t let that stop me. I pushed through, and those experiences made me who I am today.
Tune in now:
So, grab a seat, relax, and join me as I share my story of resilience and determination. Whether you’re facing your own struggles or just looking for some inspiration, I hope my story will remind you to never give up, no matter what life throws your way. Wind Down Wednesday - "Using Control, Alt, and Delete to Reset Your Mindset"
Wednesday Jul 17, 2024
Wednesday Jul 17, 2024
In this episode, I'm breaking down how we can use Control-Alt-Delete to change our life. I speak about a recent work trip and how seeing a sign hanging outside an IT Director's office changed my thinking. It featured the familiar IT commands "Ctrl+Alt+Del," but with a twist: each command was accompanied by a life lesson—Control Yourself, Alter Your Thinking, and Delete Negativity. This simple yet profound poster sparked a thought process about how these concepts could be applied to personal growth.
We're talking about Controlling Yourself (yeah, I know, I'm still working on the Brooklyn in me), Altering your thinking to see the silver lining in every situation, and straight up Deleting all that negativity that's holding you back. I'm keeping it real and sharing some personal stories about how I've been applying this in my own life.
But listen up, this ain't just about me. I want to hear from you too! How are you controlling yourself? How do you alter your thinking when life throws you a curveball? And most importantly, how are you deleting that negativity? Hit me up on social media, leave a voicemail, or shoot me a text. Let's grow together and build this community stronger than ever. Oh, and don't forget - we've got a special Financial Freedom Friday coming up, so make sure you tune in for that too. It's gonna be lit!
So sit back, relax, and let's dive into another episode of Cousin Ed's Corner. Tune in now: https://open.spotify.com/episode/0qgkQ8WNISOt3HZ0VyuiYU?si=20a18348b1404e7b
Don't forget to like, we're all works in progress, but with God's grace and a little Control-Alt-Delete action, we can reset our lives and become the best versions of ourselves. On this week's, we're diving deep as I personally work through keeping myself motivated, especially when it comes to tackling those challenging Mondays.
I'm getting real with y'all about my own experiences, sharing a day where I had to dig deep to stay motivated through a series of important meetings. We're talking about how to find that inner drive when you're feeling drained, how to appreciate the opportunities you have, and most importantly, how to recognize the impact you're making on others – even when you don't realize it.
But it's not all about the hustle, fam. We also talk about the importance of balance and self-care. You'll hear my personal tips for recharging, including a special nighttime routine that helps me wind down and prepare for the next day's challenges.
