Friday Jun 28, 2024
In this episode of Cousin Ed's Corner, I discussed the importance of supporting our black businesses, particularly entrepreneurs and many of our content creators. I shared my personal experiences with podcasting, emphasizing the support needed from friends and family. I highlighted the challenges faced by black business owners, and issue A CALL TO ACTION to help one of our own; Aisha Taylor Issah from Sistahs In Business Expo and The Sistah Shop.
The Sistah Shop is currently facing some major financial difficulties and needs our help to keep it's doors open. I encourage everyone to take action by donating, buying products, or offering their time and skills to support black-owned businesses. I also challenged myself and each of you to find organizations to donate to and to actively support black businesses through various means, such as shopping at black-owned stores or joining black-owned banks.
Think about it - if a million of us put just one dollar a month towards a Black business, that's a million dollars a month going to support our community. We've got the power to make this happen. So here's what I'm asking:
Go buy something from a Black-owned business today.
If you can, donate to a food pantry in your community.
Use a Black-owned bank.
Visit a Black-owned restaurant with your family this Sunday.
Support Black content creators - buy their books, take their courses, use their services.
Let’s come together and make a change. By supporting each other, we can achieve Financial Freedom and empower our community. Check out the new episode: https://open.spotify.com/episode/7qUG5ZbgOYZWjB5B4VgDBr?si=7cf877ae7e3e4101

Wind Down Wednesday - Why Juneteenth Matters: Education, Voting, and Community Unity
Wednesday Jun 19, 2024
Wednesday Jun 19, 2024
In today's episode, we're celebrating Juneteenth, a federal holiday commemorating when the last enslaved people in Texas finally learned they were free, years after the Emancipation Proclamation. We have been told it was June 19, 1865 that the last slaves in America were told they were free. In 2021 it became a national holiday. However, it was the date that the last "Confederate slaves" were freed. Slaves in the Union states were not freed until the 14th amendment in December 1865. Slaves in the Indian territory were not freed until 1866.
I can't stress enough how important it is for us to celebrate and educate ourselves about our black history and heritage, not just on designated days like Juneteenth, but continuously. Our ancestors' stories, their struggles, and their triumphs should be woven into our daily lives, passed down from generation to generation.
Can you imagine being one of those enslaved people in Texas, thinking you were still bound, while the rest of the country was already free? It's a sobering thought, and it highlights the importance of education and valuing our rights, like the right to vote – a right our ancestors didn't have.

Remember, We're still feeling the ripples of that oppression, generations later. That's why it's so crucial for our community to prioritize education, to understand our history, and to break free from any lingering affect from over 365 years of slavery.

Financial Freedom Fridays: Tips for Smart Investing and Wealth Building
Friday Jun 14, 2024
Friday Jun 14, 2024
In this episode, I want to talk about something super important: Wills Vs Trusts. These tools are essential for anyone looking to secure their financial future and ensure their assets are managed and distributed according to their wishes. I shared a story about a family members dealing with the loss of a loved one and how a trust could have made things so much easier. Trusts help avoid probate and offer a smoother transition of assets, which can save your family a lot of headaches and money.
I also touched on the benefits of investing in dividend-paying stocks. These stocks not only grow in value over time but also provide regular income through dividends. It's a great way to make your money work for you. Diversifying your investments is another crucial strategy. By spreading your investments across different asset types, you reduce risk and balance both short-term gains and long-term growth. Financial literacy is key, so I recommend checking out resources like "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki and learning from mentors.

Motivational Monday - Your *MasterPeace* Is A Work-In-Progress
Monday Jun 03, 2024
Monday Jun 03, 2024
In today's episode of Motivational Monday, we're diving deep into the essence of perseverance, faith, and staying true to yourself. As always, I'm here to remind you to take a moment to relax, enjoy the show, and bask in the blessings of another day. So sit back, grab your favorite beverage, and let's get into it!
I'm opening up about the challenges we all face, especially us content creators. It's easy to fall into the trap of comparison, wondering why we're not seeing the same success as others. But let me tell you, everything happens in its own time or better yet 'IN HIS OWN TIME'. It's about staying the course, keeping the faith, and trusting in the journey. I've had my fair share of doubts, but I've learned that my path is unique, and so is yours.
In a world dominated by social media, it's easy to get caught up in the highlight reels of others. But remember, authenticity is key. Celebrate the success of others, but never lose sight of who you are and what you bring to the table. Your journey is your *MasterPeace* in the making, and every step forward is progress. We all are a Work In Progress. So keep pushing, keep believing, and together, we'll navigate the ups and downs of life. Stay tuned, fam, and remember, your masterpiece is a work-in-progress!
I know it can be tough out there, seeing others' success and wondering, "Why not me?" Trust me, I've been there. But here's the thing – we can't get caught up in that comparison game. It'll only lead to envy and self-doubt, and that's not the move. Instead, we gotta celebrate the wins of others and use them as inspiration to level up our own game. Study what they're doing right, and see if there's anything you can apply to your own hustle. But at the end of the day, stay true to who you are and your authentic journey.
The truth is, we're all Works-In-Progress, *MasterPeace* in the making. Every day, we have the opportunity to put in the work, have faith, and trust the process. It might not happen overnight, but if you stay dedicated and keep pushing forward, even when the doors seem closed, your time will come. Don't ever forget – everything happens in God's timing, not ours. So keep the faith, fam, and know that your masterpiece is constantly evolving, one brushstroke at a time.

In this episode, titled "Continue To Be A Gimper For God," I dive deep into the well of gratitude, expressing my thanks to the Almighty for all the blessings, big and small.
We explore what it means to truly be a Gimper for God. I open up about the importances of being a soldier in God's Arm . It's all about being the best version of ourselves, not just for our own sake but to uplift those around us and pave the way for future generations. Remember, it all starts with a thankful heart and the good we spread to others.
