In this episode, we’re digging into our ROOTS. This weekend I attended a special gala at my church, and the minister said something I had to write down right away: “Without the roots, there’s no fruits.” My son swears I’ve heard it before, but it hit me brand new, and I knew it was what I wanted to share with you all. Today, we’re talking about where our roots come from, who’s watering them, and whether we’re taking care of the tree that’s holding everybody up.
So many of us are that tree. Our branches stretch out to our parents, our children, our jobs, and our friends, but nobody’s pouring water on us. I share what my avocado plants and tomato gardens have taught me about pruning, cutting back the energy suckers, and letting go of what’s no longer alive so the roots can come back stronger. Remember, a plant turned away from the sun will always work its way back to the light. When’s the last time you turned back toward yours?
Because here’s the truth, FAM: you can look strong and healthy on the outside, but the first wind that comes through will show whether your roots are solid. This episode is your reminder to take care of yourself, let people know when you need to be watered, and make sure your good fruit comes from good roots.
