Today we think back 25 years later, as we remember 9/11. In this episode, I'm re-airing a classic conversation, raw and uncut, that I sat down and had with my mother about the day the towers fell. Most of you don't know this, but my Queen once worked on the 33rd floor of One World Trade Center. On the morning of September 11, she had just clocked out and was heading right back toward those towers to catch a flight to South Carolina, because we had just lost my grandmother two days before. This isn't just history. It's about our families, our grief, and the way we carry it the memory of that day forward.
My mom talks about remembering how a stranger ran onto the train shouting that a plane had hit the towers? She lived that. She watched smoke roll across the water into Brooklyn and walked all the way home with a suitcase in her hand, through a city that had stopped breathing. I share her story not to compare it to those who lost everything that day, but to honor them, and to remind us that tragedy touches all of us, even from a distance.

Drop me a comment with your own memory of that day, where you were, what you felt, how you got through the days after, and share this with someone who needs to reflect and heal today. Let's honor those we lost by never letting these stories disappear. I love each and every one of you. Nothing you can do about it. ποΈ Connect with Cousin Ed @CousinEdsCorner on all platforms.
