Today, I break down a few simple ways we can all give back, buy one extra school supply for a kid who has none, adopt a classroom online, or donate something even more precious, your time. Here are the spots I mentioned on air so you can act today: AdoptAClassroom.org (search teachers and high-need schools by location, subject, or grade), DonorsChoose.org (browse vetted classroom projects and filter by zip code or highest-poverty schools), and Amazon Wish Lists through #ClearTheList and #AdoptATeacher. You can also just call your local school's front office or PTA and ask who needs help.
It's all about community, I'm asking each out you/us to help and support. Because the truth is, the teachers who poured into us are a big part of why we're standing where we stand. Each one, teach one. When we help a teacher, we help a whole classroom full of kids, and we lift the whole community up in the process.
