In this episode, I'm breaking down why the people who are "different"—the ones who march to their own beat—are the ones I truly admire. Using a powerful parable about two dogs watching a bird fly solo in the sky (one sees freedom, one sees loneliness), we're exploring how perspective changes EVERYTHING.
Here's the truth: Society teaches us to fit in from the moment we're born. Stand in line. Follow the rules. Do what everyone else is doing. But what if I told you that TRUE FREEDOM comes when you stop worrying about what other people think and start celebrating who you REALLY are?
I'm also talk about what I'm teaching my daughter, my high school senior navigating this crazy world. To every young person feeling like an outcast or wondering if you're "too different"—THIS EPISODE IS FOR YOU. Your uniqueness isn't a flaw; it's your SUPERPOWER. 💪🏾
Yes, you'll have critics. Yes, you'll have people who throw darts at your dreams. That's guaranteed. But when you're living your truth and giving more love than hate to this world? You become a beacon of hope for others.

In Today's Episode, I'm diving deep into the power of divine intuition and what it means to listen when God nudges you to act. I'm sharing my incredible encounter with a woman I met in a parking lot who was living in her car. And let me tell you—this wasn't just about helping a stranger. This was about recognizing that God speaks to us through that still, small voice inside, and when we answer that call, blessings multiply in ways we never expect. I was rushing. I had work calls stacked up, my dad had a serious medical appointment I couldn't miss, and every logical reason told me to keep driving. But something—no, SOMEONE—told me to turn that truck around.
What happened next changed everything. This isn't just another feel-good story. This is about recognizing that God speaks to us through that still, small voice inside, and when we actually LISTEN and respond, blessings multiply in ways we never expect. I'm talking about trusting GOD. I'm talking about doing the RIGHT THING even when it's inconvenient. I'm talking about faith in ACTION, not just in words.
Remember, when I listen to my heart and trust God's guidance? Everything works out. I'm sharing this episode because I need YOU to know something: judgment-free compassion matters. Your intuition matters. And doing the RIGHT THING—even when it costs you, even when it's inconvenient, even when fear tries to tell you it's a scam—that's what separates faith from just talking about faith.
Tap in and listen to the full story: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner
I want to hear from YOU, fam. Drop me a comment and tell me about a time YOU followed God's nudge. What was that moment? How did it change your life? What did you learn about faith, about yourself, about God's provision? I'm celebrating every single one of your stories because that's what Cousin Ed's Corner is all about—real people, real faith, real transformation.
And please—if this episode speaks to you, SHARE IT. There's somebody in your circle right now who needs to hear this message. They need to know that God's got them. They need to be reminded that their intuition is divine guidance. They need to see what faith in action actually looks like. Share this with them. Let's build this community together.
This is Cousin Ed's Corner, and we're not just TALKING about faith—we're LIVING it. We're not just praying about change—we're BEING the change. We're not just believing in God's love—we're SHOWING it through our actions.

Wind Down Wednesday - Make Time For YOU Before You Burn Out!
Wednesday Oct 22, 2025
Wednesday Oct 22, 2025
In this episode, we're diving deep into that pressure we all feel to constantly produce, constantly show up, constantly deliver. Whether it's your 9-to-5, your passion project, your side hustle, or your family—there's this voice saying you can NEVER slow down. Over the past few weeks, I stepped away to handle what mattered most—my family, my health, my sanity. And while I was out, I learned something powerful: sometimes the most loving thing you can do for yourself AND the people you serve is to REST.
One of the key things that I've learned is that when you're working from pressure instead of purpose, EVERYTHING starts to suffer. Your quality drops. Your authenticity disappears. The LOVE that started it all gets buried under obligation.
This isn't just about me taking a break. This is about YOU understanding that rest isn't laziness—it's STRATEGIC. It's POWERFUL. It's NECESSARY. I'm breaking down practical ways you can unwind this weekend, how to recognize when you're running on empty before crisis hits, and why choosing your rest NOW is the strongest move you can make.
Your family needs your present, not just present in body. Your passion and Your purpose don't want burned-out from an empty tank—they want AUTHENTIC self. Your dreams need you to be focused, not fractured.
Let's talk about this. Tap in and listen: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner
Drop a comment and tell me: What does unwinding look like for YOU? What's one thing you're going to do THIS WEEKEND to reclaim your peace? And PLEASE—share this episode with someone who needs permission to REST. We're building a movement here, not just a podcast. A movement where authenticity and self-care go HAND IN HAND. 💪🏾
Connect with Cousin Ed: 762-333-2032 or @CousinEdsCorner on all platforms. This is more than motivation—we're LIVING it. Share this with someone who's forgotten that their peace is WORTH protecting. Your rest is your resistance. Your peace is your power. 👑

Motivational Monday - The Other Side of Through
Monday Oct 20, 2025
Monday Oct 20, 2025
In today's Motivational Monday episode, we're back and this one is POWERFUL. I'm opening with something that moved my entire soul—a sermon from Rev. Aisha Taylor-Issah on "The Other Side of Through" that will transform how you see your STRUGGLES, your SURVIVAL, and your FAITH.
Aisha breaks down Psalm 23 like you've never heard it before, unpacking what it REALLY means to be blessed and highly favored, and celebrating every single person who has been through something and made it to the other side. This is more than motivation—this is a testament to your resilience, your faith, and your warrior spirit.
For those of you that may not have heard from me the last three weeks, I was walking through a valley that I never expected. My father was hospitalized, and those days tested everything in me. But through it all, I discovered something revolutionary: God doesn't just protect us around our struggles—He carries us THROUGH them. And when you make it to the other side, you realize you've been blessed and highly favored the entire time.
This isn't just MY story—it's YOUR story too. WE ARE ALL SURVIVORS. Whether you've lost a job, fought through financial hardship, watched a relationship crumble, faced a health crisis, or any of the valleys we walk through, this episode is here to remind you: You survived. God brought you through. And your survival is worth celebrating.

Your story matters. Your survival matters. Your faith matters. Let's keep building and celebrating our authentic journeys together—because we're all on this journey, and we're all blessed and highly favored. 👑

In today's episode, we’re reflecting on the true power of gratitude, faith, and community. Today, I’m joined once again by my father as we celebrate a monumental milestone—his return home after weeks of uncertainty, two planned procedures, and an incredible outpouring of support from so many caring hands.
In this heartfelt conversation, we lay bare the ways faith has carried us through both the darkest and brightest moments. We give thanks for the countless nurses, doctors, techs, nutritionists, drivers, and every single person who stepped into our journey and made a difference. We celebrate not only recovery, but also the resilience of the human spirit, the warmth of family, and the hands of God guiding us at every turn.
We’re taking it back to the basics—thanking God not just for Friday but for every moment, every breath, and every blessing. This is an episode about recognizing how truly fortunate we are, especially when we realize that the things we often take for granted are blessings so many others pray for daily. We get real about gratitude, vulnerability, and the importance of leaning on each other—whether times are good or bad.

The Return Of Cousin Ed’s Corner????
Sunday Oct 12, 2025
Sunday Oct 12, 2025
In this deeply personal episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on the last three weeks of my life—the first break I've taken in FOUR YEARS of bringing you consistent content. This isn't about excuses; it's about US, our humanity, and what happens when life demands that we show up differently than we planned. Sometimes stepping away is the strongest thing you can do. As my father underwent two major surgeries that led to three weeks of complications, hospital stays, and some of the scariest moments I've ever experienced. I stayed by his bedside every single night, and in doing so, I ran from the very therapy this podcast provides me. I recorded shows that never felt right to release. I tried to maintain consistency while my world was shaking. But I learned something powerful: authenticity will always matter more than anything else, and sometimes the most important content is explaining why there wasn't content.
This episode is my thank you letter to every single person who sent prayers, texts, DMs, cards, flowers, and positive energy during this time. You became the battery in my back when mine was running on empty. I'm sharing what it feels like to miss your purpose, to feel things unwinding, and to have the courage to step back and recoup. I'm also talking about this morning's lesson—when I went looking for a peaceful park for my Sunday meditation and had to choose wisdom over content when the situation didn't feel safe.

In this episode, we're exploring the raw power of resilience and what it truly means to fight for yourself. Today, I'm sharing how my 78-year-old father is still teaching me life lessons from his hospital bed during two major surgeries. This isn't just about recovery - it's about our inner strength, and how the people we love can teach us lessons we never saw coming.
Remember when someone showed you what real strength looks like? I'm sharing how watching my dad insist on feeding himself, moving his legs, and staying mentally sharp while in pain completely transformed my understanding of resilience. Sometimes the most powerful lessons come from the people closest to us when we least expect it.
This episode will change how you approach your own challenges and remind you that sometimes "it's only you" who can fight your battles - but you don't have to do it alone.

On this episode, Dr. Athea Vanzant (aka "Essence of Poetry") took over Cousin Ed's Corner during Suicide Prevention Awareness Month with some real talk that hits different - sharing how every suicide affects at least 135 people and why that should transform how we show up for each other. This Thank God For Everything (TGIF) edition is going to move your spirit in ways you didn't expect!
This isn't just about Mental Health Awareness - this is about US recognizing that we're all "Change Agent Activists" appointed for this specific season, carrying special gifts to create positive change in our communities. Dr. Vanzant dropped some serious wisdom about how our past struggles - even the painful ones - have actually equipped and prepared us to be better advocates, friends, and community members today.
But here's where it gets practical, y'all - she's challenging us to reach out RIGHT NOW and thank someone who's making a difference. Whether it's frontline workers doing thankless jobs, community advocates grinding in silence, or that person on social media consistently speaking truth to power - she wants us to be intentional about showing gratitude with a phone call, text, or surprise visit.
The attitude of gratitude really IS the best posture, and this episode proves that community support and intentional check-ins don't just change lives - they save them. Dr. Vanzant reminded us that we're not out here alone; we have each other, and that village mentality makes all the difference in our advocacy work.

In today's episode, we're diving deep into the intersection of human preparation and divine faith. I'm sharing the raw, emotional journey of my 78-year-old father's major surgery and the profound lessons about being mentally, practically, and spiritually prepared for life's biggest challenges.
This isn't just about his medical procedures - it's about US, our families, and how true preparation can transform fear into unshakeable peace. We're exploring how my dad's YouTube University research, multiple medical opinions, and spiritual foundation created a calm that affected our entire family.
Sometimes, the most powerful moments come from the hospital room? I'm sharing how hearing "I love you" from a man of the 1950s generation, and watching him emerge from surgery calling loved ones and sharing fond memories, taught me everything about facing uncertainty with grace.

Today, I'm sharing the story of how my 22-year-old son EJ completely flipped our parent-child dynamic when he became the worried one after not hearing from me during a busy work day. This isn't just about family dynamics - it's about US, our mortality, and how God uses intuition to show love through unexpected moments.

Thursday Sep 11, 2025
In this deeply personal episode, we're honoring the memory of 9/11 through the lens of family storytelling and divine protection. Today, I'm sharing my mother's incredible story – she was literally on her way to the World Trade Center that morning, the same building where she used to work on the 33rd floor.
This isn't just about one family's experience – it's about US, our resilience, and the power of documenting the stories that shape our legacy. My mother's journey from that subway car to the Brooklyn streets, witnessing history unfold while carrying a suitcase through a city in chaos, reminds us why we shouldn't need tragedy to bring us together as one human race.

Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - Open Letter To My Son
Friday Sep 05, 2025
Friday Sep 05, 2025
In today's episode, we're diving deep into the sacred bonds of fatherhood and how they mirror God's unconditional love for each of us. I'm sharing my heart in a birthday tribute to my firstborn EJ that became so much more - it's about identity transformation, divine protection, and the DNA connections that can never be broken.
This isn't just about parenting - it's about US, our spiritual journey, and understanding how we're all completely surrounded by God's love and protection. I get real vulnerable about becoming "EJ's dad," the sacrifice and identity shifts that come with loving someone more than yourself, and how these experiences opened my eyes to God's relationship and the love He has for us all.
Remember that feeling when you first realized someone would fight the world for you? I'm sharing how that protective love we feel as parents is just a glimpse of how God covers us daily. We're exploring what it means to "Pitch Pennies" - going above and beyond in kindness - and why maintaining a heart of love, even when life gets tough, is essential for our growth.
The spiritual breakthrough in this episode comes when I acknowledge "If It Wasn't For The Blood" - recognizing the divine grace and protection that keeps us going every single day. This isn't just about goal-setting - it's about US, our consistency, and how daily preparation creates the foundation for our biggest victories.
Remember that moment when you realize time moves faster than your goals? We're diving deep into the reality check we all need about our financial goals, health objectives, and relationship progress. In this episode, we're diving deep into the difference between God-given gifts and actually using them. Today, I'm sharing a powerful conversation I had with my son during our Sunday Morning Meditations about our God Given Talents versus Blessings, and why too many of us let our potential collect dust.
This isn't just about motivation - it's about US, our responsibility to maximize what we've been given, and how preparation meets divine opportunity.Remember that coach who said the worst thing is being remembered for "what you could have been"? I'm sharing my own basketball regrets and the hard truth about relying on natural ability without putting in the extra work.
We're exploring the island test - if you were alone and had to survive, God gives you the intuition, but YOU have to act on it. That's the balance between divine gifts and personal responsibility.
From the 5 AM advantage to turning your gifts into testimonies, this episode will challenge you to stop waiting and start activating. Whether it's that creative project, fitness goal, spiritual discipline, or business idea - your gifts are waiting for you to show up.

Thank God For Everything (TGIF) - How To Reverse Engineer Your Thankfulness

In this raw and powerful episode, I'm coming to you straight from the heart about something that could revolutionize your entire prayer life and perspective on gratitude. We're diving deep into the concept of "Reverse Engineering" our prayers - instead of constantly asking God for what we don't have, what happens when we start Thanking God For Everything?
This isn't just about positive thinking, family - this is about authentic surrender and recognizing God's hand in every aspect of our lives. I share my personal testimony about that humbling altar walk that taught me the difference between self-reliance and divine dependence, plus a powerful analogy about God's protection being like a bulletproof vest that doesn't stop everything but shields us from the worst.
We're exploring how God surrounds us completely - cleaning our past behind us, guiding our steps in front of us, and serving as our unshakeable foundation beneath us. This episode will challenge you to see your current job, relationships, and circumstances through a lens of gratitude rather than complaint.
Remember that sometimes the most transformative moments come from shifting our perspective on what we already have rather than focusing on what we're missing. Whether you're struggling with patience for divine timing or learning to surrender control, this message will meet you right where you are.
