In this special Father's Day episode, I dive deep into the reflections and lessons learned. Yes this Father's Day wasn't just another holiday - this was a masterclass in how life teaches us when we're paying attention. I started my day with some great meditation / stretching, and then surprising my dad at church, hearing a powerful word about faith from Mark chapter 5, then headed to the lake for some meditation time.
But here's where it gets real - while I'm sitting there trying to process this great sermon, life decided to give me a front-row seat to the most profound lesson about love, loss, and the preciousness of time. I watched a father and son create the kind of memory that kid will carry forever as they kayaked together, while simultaneously witnessing a family say their final goodbye to a loved one by spreading ashes in that same lake. Talk about perspective, right?
The whole experience reminded me that we're living this 360-degree life where every moment matters, every connection has purpose, and every day is an opportunity to love harder. I even had an unexpected reunion with an old coaching friend and got to see how one of my former young players is now impacting his community at just 23 years old. These aren't coincidences, family - these are divine appointments that remind us what really matters.
I'm sharing all of this because I want you to walk away from this episode with one clear message: don't wait for holidays or special occasions to show love to the fathers, uncles, cousins, and family members in your life. Call them today. Text them. Make those memories while you can. Because I promise you, in your lowest moments, it's those connections and that love you've invested that will carry you through.

The Corner Connection - This Is America!!!
Wednesday Jun 11, 2025
Wednesday Jun 11, 2025
In this episode, we're diving deep into one of the most pressing issues of our time - Immigration in America and what it means to treat our fellow human beings with dignity and respect. Today, I'm sharing a powerful conversation I had with a contractor from Mexico who opened up about the daily fear that millions of people live with in our country face. This isn't just about policy - it's about US, our humanity, and remembering that we're ALL immigrants or descendants of immigrants who built this nation together. It's About AMERICA'S Ugly Truth!!!
I share my earliest memories of immigration from Brooklyn in the late 80s during Reagan's amnesty program. We're connecting those dots to today's reality and asking the tough questions about who we are as Americans. Junior, the contractor, drops some serious truth about the economic impact of mass deportations and how Americans are treated when they travel abroad. His perspective will challenge you to think beyond the headlines and see the human faces behind this issue.
This episode of The Corner Connection isn't about taking sides - it's about opening hearts and minds to have the conversations that matter. We're talking about families, communities, and the fear of living in the shadows when you're just trying to contribute to society.
Tap in to hear this eye-opening conversation: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner
Drop me a comment about your family's immigration story or how this conversation impacted you. Let's keep building bridges instead of walls and remember that our strength comes from our diversity and shared humanity!

On today's episode, I had to come to y'all with something that touched my heart this weekend. My baby girl just turned 17, and man, I'm feeling all kinds of emotions about it. Join me as I talk about what it means to watch your daughter grow up right before your eyes. We're talking about the bittersweet beauty of seeing her develop into her own person - from deciding to loc her hair, to taking pride in her skincare routine, and just becoming this amazing young woman.
I know I'm not the only parent out there feeling this way, especially my fellow girl dads who understand that protective instinct that never goes away. We want our kids to experience all the beautiful things life has to offer - prom, college, driving, all those teenage milestones - but we also know the world can be challenging, especially for our daughters. I'm sharing my heart about wanting her to grow while simultaneously wishing I could keep her little forever.
This isn't just about my daughter though, fam. This is about all our kids, nieces, nephews, grandkids - watching the next generation step into their power while we learn to love them enough to let them spread their wings. It's about finding joy in their happiness, even when it means they're growing away from us. If you're a parent navigating these waters, or if you just need some encouragement about the beautiful complexity of loving someone this deeply, this episode is for you.
Tune in now: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner
Come sit with your boy Cousin Ed for a few minutes and let's talk about this journey together. Don't forget to share your own stories with me - I love hearing from y'all about your parenting moments, both the sweet and the challenging ones. Let's keep building this community of love and support!

Friday Jun 06, 2025
On today's episode, I'm so excited to share the incredible ways God works through technology. What began as a simple chat with my cousin Mr. Moody about our parents, health, and gratitude, turned into something extraordinary - I ended up creating an AI-produced song in just 30 minutes that captures the heart of what we're always talking about: Thank God For Everything.
But this episode goes deeper than just gratitude and technology. We're diving into those real, raw moments when your faith gets tested to the core. Whether you're dealing with grief from loss, watching a parent struggle with dementia, or facing financial challenges that shake your foundation, this message is for you. I'm talking about that fair-weather fan mentality - it's easy to praise God when everything's going well, but what happens when life gets difficult? Even Jesus questioned God on the cross, so if you're struggling with doubt right now, you're in good company.
I want you to know that those tests are preparing you for your testimony. Just like Jesus wrestled for three days and rose again, you're going to rise from whatever you're facing right now. This isn't just motivational talk - this is real life, real faith, and real hope for anyone who feels like they're wrestling with the devil in their circumstances.
So tune in now: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner
Please, let this message bless your heart. And also, don't forget to let me know what you think about the song I created with the help of technology. I love hearing from each and every one of you, and your feedback means the world to me. Share this episode with someone who needs to hear that they're not alone in their struggle and that their breakthrough is coming. Let's keep building and celebrating our faith journeys together!

In this episode, I got vulnerable about something I know we all struggle with - that nagging voice that asks "why am I doing this?" and "is anybody even listening?" But here's the thing, I had to share a story that completely changed my perspective and reminded me why we keep going even when the doubts get loud.
A few weeks ago, my cousin hit me up out of nowhere with a picture of their TV screen showing Cousin Ed's Corner playing on YouTube. They had no idea I even had a podcast, but somehow the algorithm blessed them with our content, and they were genuinely surprised and delighted. That moment right there reminded me that we never truly know whose life we're touching or whose day we're making better with our authentic voices.
This episode is for every creator, every dreamer, every person putting themselves out there wondering if it matters. Whether you're writing poetry, making body butters, fixing cars, or sharing your healing journey - your genuine effort matters more than you know. I talk about why being your own number one fan isn't just important, it's necessary, and how sometimes that one person you're creating for might just be yourself, and that's perfectly okay. We dive into the power of community support, those simple hearts and "KEEP GOING" comments that fuel us more than we realize, and why authenticity will always win over perfection.
Tune In Now: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner
I hope that this episode is that battery in your back, that recharge you need to keep pushing forward with whatever passion project is on your heart. Whether you're thinking about starting that restaurant, writing that book, or sharing your travel dreams - your voice matters, your story matters, and somebody out there needs to hear exactly what you have to say.

Friday May 30, 2025
In this episode, we're diving deep into the power of gratitude and the importance of celebrating our journeys, especially as we wrap up another school year. I take time out to reflect on how tough this year has been for everyone - students, teachers, parents, and all the unsung heroes who keep our educational system running. From the A+ scholars to those who struggled to make the grade, from teachers who didn't want to get up on rainy mornings to parents dealing with teenage emotions (y'all know what I'm talking about with my 16-year-old! 😂), we've all been through it. But we made it, family, and that's worth celebrating.
We're also taking time to honor our educators - those servants who stand in the gap when we can't be there, who are severely underpaid for the society-building work they do. I'm also celebrating our people, especially our queens who are leading the way in educational achievement. It's beautiful to see how far we've come, and I had to give flowers where they're due. Plus, I'm shouting out all the 2025 graduates from kindergarten to doctoral programs - every achievement matters and deserves recognition.
I want you to know that this summer isn't just about rest (though you definitely need that!), but about recharging like those Teslas - filling up your tank so you can get back on the road stronger. Whether you're heading into senior year like my baby girl, starting a new career, or continuing your educational journey, this is your time to prepare for what's next. I encourage you to take this time to reflect, relax, and rejuvenate.

Wind Down Wednesday - Are You Taking Enough Time for Yourself?
Wednesday May 28, 2025
Wednesday May 28, 2025
In this episode, I share some personal experiences about the challenges of balancing responsibilities and the emotional toll it can take. I know how easy it is to get caught up in helping others and forget about our own needs. That's why I’m here to remind you that it’s okay to take a step back and prioritize yourself. Whether it’s a solo trip, a quiet moment in the park, or simply recording your thoughts, I encourage you to find those moments of peace.
I also want to talk about the power of expressing our emotions. Sometimes, we hold so much inside that it can weigh us down. I share tips on how to let it all out—whether through conversation with a trusted friend or just talking to yourself in a voice memo. Remember, you’re not alone in this journey, and it’s essential to have someone to lean on.

Monday May 26, 2025
In this episode, I'm talking about more than just honoring our fallen service members (though that's absolutely essential). I'm diving into the "quiet deaths" - those service members who didn't die in combat but lost their lives to PTSD, suicide, and other service-related complications. These are the stories we don't always hear about, but they need our recognition and honor just as much.
Also I share what really blew my mind - I learned about the true origins of Memorial Day from Sally McMullin's "BLACK HISTORY We Should All Know." Did you know that Memorial Day was actually started by Black Americans on May 1st, 1865, in Charleston, South Carolina? They were the first to decorate soldiers' graves and create this tradition of remembrance that we now observe nationally. This is the kind of history that should be common knowledge but somehow gets overlooked.
I also want to honor Allen E. Smith, Sally's uncle who served from 1944-1966. Looking at his photo that she shared of him in uniform, you can see the pride and dedication in his face - he represents so many young service members, both men and women, who have given their lives for this country across every generation and every conflict. From World War II to Korea, Vietnam to Desert Storm, Iraq to Afghanistan, and all the conflicts in between - these brave souls have carried the honor and pride of our nation on their shoulders.
This Memorial Day, let's make sure we're telling the complete story and honoring everyone who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others. From the first responders who ran toward danger on 9/11, the men and women who served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Whether they were fighting overseas or serving here at home, whether they were active duty, reserves, or National Guard, they've always carried themselves with dignity and honor. That pride has been a constant thread throughout American history - from the Buffalo Soldiers to the Tuskegee Airmen, from the women who served as nurses in World War II to the female combat soldiers of today. Let's share this with someone who needs to hear it, and let's keep these important conversations going.
Tune in Now: https://linktr.ee/cousinedscorner
So, sit back, relax, and join me on this journey of remembrance and gratitude. I invite you to listen in, reflect on your own experiences, and share your thoughts with me. Together, let's honor those who have given so much for our freedom.

In this episode, I have the honor of sitting down with the incredible Dr. Eric Mansfield, a physician whose journey is nothing short of inspiring. What if I told you that the doctor who now inspires hundreds of thousands daily on social media was once dead in a coma, lost everything in divorce, and accidentally discovered his life calling? I'm not exaggerating - this conversation with Dr. Eric Mansfield shook me to my core.
Listen, I thought I was just interviewing a successful ENT surgeon, but what I got was a masterclass in divine orchestration. This brother went from hating psychiatry to accidentally walking into an ENT surgery - only to discover his mentor was secretly the most powerful person in that entire field. But that's just the beginning of what God had in store.
Dr. Mansfield survived being clinically dead for four days, went through the isolation of divorce where he learned who his real friends were, and discovered that he was just 'one degree different' from his childhood friends who ended up in jail or dead. We're talking about same neighborhood, same choices, but divine intervention made all the difference. Yet it was in his darkest wilderness season that God birthed his social media ministry - his first video hit 250,000 views and changed everything.
This man calls himself 'the smallest hole in the smallest instrument in God's orchestra,' but let me tell you - when God breathes through that instrument, lives transform daily. I watched this happen in real time during our conversation. This isn't just about medical success - it's about divine orchestration, wilderness seasons that birth ministry, and why your greatest breakthrough might come right after your greatest breakdown.
If you're in a wilderness season right now, questioning God's timing, or wondering how your setbacks could become setups - this conversation will shift your entire perspective on gratitude and God's faithfulness. I'm telling you, there were moments during this interview where I had to pause because the Holy Spirit was moving in that room.
Dr. Mansfield reminded me that we're all just one degree away from completely different outcomes, and that should make us grateful for every breath we take.

Friday May 16, 2025
Friday May 16, 2025
On this episode, we dive deep into a topic that's been weighing on my heart after some real conversations with members of our community. We talk about the importance of not letting negative influences derail your success. In better words – "Do Not Let Anyone Negatively Influence Your Success."
We all face those moments when someone tries to throw shade on our positive choices, whether it's pursuing education, making healthier lifestyle decisions, or practicing financial discipline. I share my own experiences with veganism and how I've faced criticism for it, not because it affected others, but simply because it was different. I ask the powerful question – why do we feel the need to criticize others who are simply trying to better themselves?
This episode isn't just about venting frustrations; it's about building a blueprint for success despite opposition. I break down practical strategies for setting achievable goals, developing thick skin against criticism, and surrounding yourself with genuine supporters. Remember, your journey is YOURS – not anyone else's to judge or direct.

In this episode, we’re diving deep into a topic that’s close to my heart: Mother's Day. It’s a special time to honor the incredible women who’ve shaped our lives with their love, wisdom, and unwavering support. I share some deeply personal moments from my recent Mother's Day dinner, where I witnessed something truly profound.
As I listened my aunt and cousin, who are both battling dementia, spoke about their mothers and grandmothers as if they were still with us today. It touched my heart and reminded me that a mother's love and influence truly transcends time and even memory itself. For those of you who still have your mothers with you, I encourage you to cherish every moment. And for those whose mothers have passed on, I offer some thoughts on finding peace and connection even when they're no longer physically present.
The highlight of this episode is a special voice message from my own mother, who shares beautiful memories of what she learned from her mother and grandmother – from cooking daily rice and rainbow cakes to keeping a neat home and the "survival way of living." These seemingly simple lessons carry the weight of generations of love and wisdom.
So whether you're celebrating or grieving this Mother's Day season, this episode is dedicated to all the mothers who've shaped us into who we are today. Tune in now:
Don't forget to subscribe, share your thoughts in the comments, and join our growing community of listeners who are on this journey of motivation and personal growth together. Your support means the world to me, and I'm grateful for each and every one of you tuning in. I hope this episode inspires you to reflect on the incredible women in your life and the lasting legacy they’ve left behind. Until next time, this is your boy Cousin Ed, reminding you that love never truly leaves us.

I must be honest, this episode almost never happen. I was coming off a high from last week, feeling good, but then life started lifing. Add to that some family emergencies, and I was ready to put the mic down and walk away from the show.
But God had other plans. Just as I was about to cancel, I stumbled across a video of David Banner talking about his own struggles with depression and how Method Man helped him through it by recommending consistent habits like going to the gym. It reminded me of the book "Atomic Habits" and brought me back to why I do this podcast in the first place – this community that means everything to me.
In this episode, I dive deep into the power of gratitude and perspective – not just thanking God for Fridays, but for EVERYTHING, even our struggles. I share how sometimes we need that person in our corner to snap us out of our self-pity, or how God sends us messages exactly when we need them.
So tune in as we discover how we can find joy and purpose even amidst chaos:
I even get vulnerable about my struggles and share how gratitude transformed my mindset in a matter of minutes. This episode is for anyone feeling overwhelmed by responsibility or stuck in their own head. Let me be your Method Man today – the voice reminding you that you're not alone and that there's power in persistence and perspective. And to remember to THANK GOD FOR EVERYTHING....
So, sit back, relax, and join me as we Thank HIM. I invite you to share your thoughts and experiences with me. Let's keep this conversation going and support one another on this journey of life. Don't forget to leave us a voicemail at 762-333-2032. Wind Down Wednesday - A Needed Mini Vacation
Wednesday May 07, 2025
Wednesday May 07, 2025
In this episode, I'm sharing something deeply personal that I hope will resonate with each of you who's struggling to put yourself first. I recently had a transformative experience when my brother from another mother – my friend of almost 30 years – insisted I extend my business trip to visit him in the Bahamas. Despite my initial resistance (yes, even I struggle with practicing what I preach!), I finally said yes to myself, and it became one of the most rejuvenating experiences I've had in years.
Join me as I take you through my journey of reconnection – not just with my friend Nelson, but with the peaceful parts of myself I'd been neglecting. There's something powerful about putting your feet in the sand and just being present that no amount of hustle can replace. I share how this experience reminded me that as we get older, true joy comes less from parties and external validation, and more from genuine connection and moments of tranquility.
I also give you a glimpse into the breathtaking Baha Mar Resort and Hotel, where Nelson's comedy show took place, and the incredible hospitality I experienced while there. But more importantly, I challenge you to identify where in your life you might need to give yourself permission to say yes to rest, to friendship, and to putting yourself first occasionally. Remember, taking care of yourself isn't selfish – it's necessary.
Thank you for being part of this growing community that values authentic conversation and personal growth. Your messages, comments, and support mean everything to me. Now I'd love to hear from you – when was the last time you prioritized your own well-being? What's your equivalent of my Bahamas trip that you've been putting off? Let's continue building this corner together where we can all learn to wind down and tune in to what truly matters.
Ps. Bigupppppp: Paragonnights, Sawyerboy Majah Hype and Keysha E and so many more!!!!

The Corner Connection - Building Connections w/ Good Friends and Family

In today's episode, I’m excited to share my recent experiences and the joy of connecting with friends and family. Sometimes we need to step away from our regular programming to remind ourselves what this community is really all about – US. That's right, this podcast isn't just about me dropping motivational gems; it's about the connections we're building together as we grow.
This past weekend was truly transformative as I got to spend quality time with my brother from another mother, Nelson, someone I've been blessed to call a friend for nearly three decades. There's something powerful about those longstanding relationships that fuel our souls, you know? And what made it even more special was introducing new folks to our Cousin Ed's Corner community and seeing their genuine interest in what we're building together. Those moments of connection remind me why I started this podcast in the first place.
I'm beyond excited to share that in the coming weeks, you'll be hearing from some amazing new voices on the show – people I've connected with who have stories that will inspire, challenge, and uplift you. While I'm admittedly a bit tired (sometimes you need a vacation from your vacation, am I right?), the energy from these new connections has me fired up about the future of our corner. My brother Nelson did something incredible this weekend, and I'm going to do my best to share some footage with y'all soon.
So keep your ears open for what's coming next, and remember – this community grows stronger when we share it with others who need to hear these messages.
Drop me a comment about a long-standing friendship that's shaped your life, and share how you're building community in your own corner of the world! Let's keep growing and connecting authentically together. 💪🏾
Cousin Ed's Corner is not just about motivation - we're building family. Love on somebody today, and as always, thank you for making Cousin Ed's Corner more than just a podcast... Share this with someone who needs this message of gratitude and connection! 👑

In this episode, I dive deep into what it really means to be thankful—not just on Fridays (TGIF), but EVERY single day for EVERY single blessing. I'm talking about that complete shift in mindset that transforms how we view our daily struggles, our relationships, and even the timing of blessings in our lives.
I open up about some real conversations I had this past week that reminded me of God's perfect timing. From dealing with my own frustrations at work to concerns about my children's potential, and even celebrating with a 50-year-old friend who just bought their first home—each interaction reinforced that powerful truth: God's timing is never wrong. What looks like a delay to us might actually be divine protection and preparation.
This episode is especially meaningful to me because it's a reminder that no matter where you are in life right now, this is YOUR season. Maybe you're feeling stuck, maybe you're feeling like you're behind where you "should" be—I want you to know that God has you exactly where you need to be. Those roots might feel cramped right now, but maybe you're just getting ready for a bigger pot! I share the scripture from Matthew 6:34 that's been guiding me through moments of anxiety and how letting go of control has opened my eyes to unexpected blessings.
Tune in, share your thoughts, and let me know how you're finding gratitude in your own life journey. Don't forget to leave us a voicemail at 762-333-2032.
