In this episode, I dive deep into why we should celebrate these achievements, whether it's kindergarten, high school, or a doctorate program. I share my thoughts on how graduations represent more than just academic accomplishments – they're powerful signs of progression, determination, and the ability to sacrifice for greater goals.
I couldn't help but get personal in this episode, sharing my own parental journey as my daughter approaches her senior year and prom season. Man, I'm not ready for my baby girl to grow up! But that's life, right? We keep moving forward, celebrating each milestone while preparing for the next. This episode is really about recognizing those who've put in the work and supporting them as they transition to new chapters.
Throughout the episode, I emphasize the importance of community support during graduation season. Whether it's sending a congratulatory card, offering words of encouragement, or simply acknowledging the accomplishment, these gestures matter. They remind graduates that their hard work is seen and valued. I also touch on how graduation is one of our first formal experiences with progression – similar to moving from a crib to a bed or getting out of diapers – these are all symbols of growth that deserve recognition.
Tune in Now:
Remember, I'd love to hear your graduation stories and how you're celebrating the graduates in your life. Don't forget to like, share, and leave a comment – it helps the show reach more people who might need to hear this message. Remember, we're all in this together, family!

Wind Down Wednesdays - You Never Know What God Is Preparing You For
Wednesday Apr 23, 2025
Wednesday Apr 23, 2025
On today's episode, I take you behind the scenes of how Cousin Ed's Corner came to be. I never planned to be consistently behind the mic, but looking back, I can see how every experience was preparing me for this journey.
From my early days with Cousin Moody on "Mr. Moody's Neighborhood" to casual recordings sent to friends during COVID, to a chance encounter in a vegan group chat that changed everything—this story is all about divine timing. I share how a woman named Taralyn Michelle heard something in my voice that I hadn't fully recognized myself, pushing me to invest in equipment and take this platform seriously.
Four seasons later, I'm humbled by the growth of our community and the connections we've made. This episode is a reminder that sometimes the things we're not actively searching for end up finding us when we're ready. God puts people in our path for a reason—angels disguised as strangers, friends, or even guest who become part of our journey.
This episode is not just about my story; it's about recognizing the opportunities that come our way and the importance of connecting with others. Tune in Now:
So wind down with me as I reflect on the beautiful unpredictability of life when we surrender to God's plan. If you've been wondering "what's next" in your journey, this episode might just be the sign you need to recognize the opportunities already in front of you.

Motivational Monday - No Greater Love 'The True Meaning of God's Sacrifice"
Monday Apr 21, 2025
Monday Apr 21, 2025
In this episode, I take you on a journey through time - from my childhood memories of Easter Sunday best to my college years when I drifted from faith, and finally to how becoming a father brought me full circle in understanding God's love. I share those precious memories of sunrise services, dying Easter eggs at my grandmother's house, and the excitement of getting that fresh Easter suit off layaway. Y'll remember...
I also take you on my personal journey of faith, recounting how I rediscovered my connection to God during my college years. I talk about my recent church visit and how seeing the younger generation experience what I experienced brought everything into perspective. But more importantly, I dive deep into what the sacrifice of Christ really means.
We'll explore the profound love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ and how it mirrors the love we have for our own children. It's a motivational reminder to honor those sacrifices and appreciate the blessings in our lives.
Tune in Now:
This isn't just another Easter reflection - it's a reminder that there's no greater love than what God showed us on that cross. I want you to feel the power of that sacrifice and understand that every blessing, every breath we take, is a testament to that love. Let's celebrate the love that surrounds us. Drop us a DM and share your thoughts, and connect with our community. Your feedback means the world to me, and together, we can continue to uplift and inspire one another.

Motivational Monday - Continue To Support Our Community
Monday Apr 14, 2025
Monday Apr 14, 2025
In today's episode, we're diving deep into the power of community and the importance of uplifting one another. I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for being a part of this movement. Your support means the world to me and has helped us build a vibrant community over the past four years.
What a journey it's been over these past four years! I'm genuinely humbled and inspired by the community we've built together. This week's Motivational Monday took an unexpected turn when I glimpsed our listener statistics and realized just how far our message is reaching—from Brooklyn to Bermuda, Russia to Poland!
I had planned to talk about how our past mistakes shape our present wisdom (which I still touched on), but seeing those numbers made me realize something profound. Every time you tune in—whether you're washing clothes on the weekend, commuting on a Friday (our most popular day!), or catching up on your Apple device (56% of you!)—you're fueling this movement. And that global reach? It proves that our hunger for connection and motivation transcends borders.
From my time working at that Brooklyn bagel shop taught me the power of recognizing people's value and anticipating their needs. That's what I strive to do here, and I challenge you to bring that same energy to your interactions. Support our local businesses, uplift our independent creators, and acknowledge the poets, doctors, lawyers, and financial experts in our community who are building something meaningful. Remember, your consistency creates ripple effects you can't even imagine.
Tune In NOW:
Let's keep uplifting each others through their works, and don't forget to share your thoughts about the show. Text the show at 762-333-2032 or drop a DM on any social media platform. Monday Apr 07, 2025
On today's episode, we're talking about personal growth. This conversation was inspired by my daughter's recently achieving her Personal Record (PR) in both of her events this weekend track meet. it got me thinking about how we can all apply this mindset to our everyday lives and how these personal victories add up and create momentum in our lives.
What struck me most this weekend was how my daughter wasn't measuring herself against the kids who've been doing track for years. Instead, she was competing with herself, pushing to beat her own previous best. And isn't that what life is all about? Setting your own goals, tracking your own progress, and celebrating when you surpass what you thought was possible – that's the recipe for continuous improvement and success.
See my daughter achieve her PR reminded, the key is knowing where you're starting from and having a clear goal of what you want to beat. You don't need to worry about what anyone else is doing – just focus on being better than you were yesterday. That's what I'm challenging each and every one of you to do in your own lives. Remember, there's nothing more satisfying than knowing you've outdone yourself!

As always, I appreciate you being part of this journey – make sure to like, follow, and share the show, or leave a comment at CousinsEdCorner.com. Monday Mar 31, 2025
In today's episode, I share something that truly touched my heart - a video of a father helping his son who uses a mobility aid learn to navigate up a curb. What struck me most was the son's powerful mantra: "Curbs Don't Move. by Bubba_CashMan13" This simple phrase carries such profound wisdom for all of us facing life's challenges.
I reflect on how many of us have the luxury to avoid obstacles or try again later - we can turn off the video game, put down the puzzle, or find another route. But for many people, like this young man, there is no choice but to face challenges head-on. The curbs in life don't move just because we wish they would. We have to find our way over them, around them, or through them.
This episode is all about finding that fighter spirit within ourselves. I share my own story of learning to ride a bike and the persistence it took to finally stay upright. I encourage you to think about the "CURBS" in your own life and approach them with the same determination this young man showed. Remember, our Heavenly Father is there to guide us, but the strength to overcome must come from within.

Friday Mar 28, 2025
Friday Mar 28, 2025
In this episode, I dive deep into something that's been weighing on my heart lately - how many of us have become like the Tin Man from The Wiz, unable to feel while we're busy taking care of everyone else. After some intense conversations with a friend who was locked in his own metal casing of responsibilities, I realized how many of us are silently rusting from the inside out.
I share a powerful question that caught my attention from our good friend of the show, Santia Bailey of Petals and Stem Spa: "Are You Taking Care of Everyone... Except Yourself??" This thought-provoking question really brought an important topic to the forefront. We explore why responsibilities like caring for family, working hard, and supporting others don't feel like "burdens" even when they're overwhelming us. I open up about my own struggles with balance and share practical ways we can create safe spaces to express ourselves before we reach our breaking point. Santia's timely reminder couldn't have come at a better moment, as it perfectly connected with conversations I'd been having and observations I'd been making in my own life and the lives of those around me.
Throughout the episode, I keep returning to that haunting question - "What would I do if I could feel?" - because too many of us, especially men, have forgotten how to oil our emotional joints. We're afraid of judgment, afraid of being seen as weak, afraid of being human. But here's the truth: unlike the Tin Man who had to search for a heart, we already have one - we've just wrapped it in layers of tin to protect it. This episode is about finding your oil can and remembering what it's like to move freely in a world that often asks us to remain rigid and strong at all costs.

Motivational Monday - Embracing the Best Version of You
Monday Mar 24, 2025
Monday Mar 24, 2025
In this episode, I want to talk about something that’s been on my mind: the importance of striving to be the best rather than just being the first. We often hear about trailblazers and pioneers, but what does it really mean to be remembered for excellence?
Join me as I reflect on a recent discussion I heard about the significance of being the first in various fields, especially in relation to race and gender. While I celebrate those who break barriers, I also want to emphasize that it’s crucial to aim for greatness in whatever we do. I’ll share some personal stories about my family and my experiences in sports that illustrate why it’s essential to represent ourselves and our loved ones with pride and excellence.
This episode isn't just talk—it's about pushing ourselves to excellence in everything we touch. Whether you're a doctor, mechanic, artist, or parent, I'm challenging you to leave nothing on the table. Don't let anyone ever look back at your life and talk about what "Could Have Been." Instead, let's be so excellent that people say, "I wish I could do that like you do!"
Tune In Now:
This is motivation for the entire week, not just Monday. Let's strive for excellence together! Let’s explore this together and inspire one another to reach new heights. I want to hear from you, so don’t hesitate to share your thoughts and experiences with me.
Remember, to make sure you connect and follow us on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok @cousinedscorner. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to reach out to us at info @cousinedscorner.com. You can even leave us a voicemail at 762-333-2032.
Don't forget to tune in to Cousin Ed's Corner Podcast for more engaging discussions. Thanks for listening!

Friday Mar 21, 2025
Friday Mar 21, 2025
In this episode, I'm challenging all of us to rethink what TGIF really means. It's not just "Thank God It's Friday" – it's "Thank God For EVERYTHING"! I'm talking about thanking Him for every moment, every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every month, every year, and beyond. When we limit our gratitude to just Fridays or just the good times, we're missing the bigger picture of God's constant presence in our lives.
Life can throw us all curveballs, and sometimes we may feel overwhelmed, but it's crucial to remember that every experience shapes us into who we are meant to be. I share a personal experience that I recently had while talking and gaining wisdom from an elderly gentleman who reminded me that it's not just about being "above the green" but about having our right mind and the ability to stand and have conversations. God's goodness goes far beyond what we typically acknowledge!
Tune in Now, as we reflect on the importance of thanking God for every moment we experience, whether joyful or challenging:
Throughout this episode, I offer prayers for those facing illness, for family members serving as caregivers, for our children of all ages, for safety outside our homes, and for peace in our workplaces. I describe how God surrounds us completely – above us like an umbrella, in front guiding our path through life's maze, behind us cleaning our transgressions, and beneath us as our rock foundation.
Lastly, I want to thank everyone who's supported this show – Mr. Moody, Queen Taralyn Michelle, our producers, fellow podcasters, social media influencers, and YOU. I invite you to engage with this community, share your thoughts, and spread the word about the uplifting messages we are sharing here at Cousin Ed's Corner. Don't forget to reach out at 762-333-2032 or on any social media platform @CousinEdsCorner – I truly love hearing how these messages impact your lives!

Wednesday Mar 19, 2025
Wednesday Mar 19, 2025
In this episode, I’m diving deep into the world of friendships and relationships. Have you ever felt like some friends just don’t value you the way you value them? Well, I had a heartfelt conversation with my daughter about this very topic, and I want to share those insights with you.
We often overlook the small gestures that truly matter in our relationships. I like to think of them as "pitching pennies." These little acts of kindness can mean the world to someone, even if they seem insignificant. But what happens when you realize that some people won’t even pick up a "Painted Penny" for you? It’s a powerful metaphor that I believe can help us evaluate our connections and understand who truly supports us.
Join me as I explore the importance of mutual support, and how we can all be more mindful of the relationships we cherish. I'm getting personal in this one, sharing real examples from my own life and my daughter's experiences. And I'm keeping it real too – acknowledging that we/ I'm human and sometimes fail to pick up those pennies for others as well. But that's the beauty of growth, right? We recognize our blind spots and do better. This episode isn't about judging others or holding grudges; it's about understanding relationship dynamics and reducing stress by knowing which "boxes" to put people in.

In this episode, I'm getting real about something we all struggle with – overthinking. You know how it is when your mind gets caught in that loop of worry and you just can't seem to break free? I explore how we can stop overwhelming ourselves with thoughts and instead focus on what truly matters. I'll share some personal stories and insights that I hope will resonate with you. We all have moments of chaos in our minds, but it's essential to take a step back, breathe, and trust that everything will work out as it should.
I share a powerful conversation I had with a friend who called me out and simply said, "Stop overthinking. Let it shine!" This simple phrase hit me two ways – first, I was overwhelming myself with excessive thinking, and second, I needed to let my message shine without all the mental chaos. I take you through my journey of stepping outside, soaking up some sunshine.
If you're stuck in a moment of worry, chaos, or uncertainty about your next steps, this episode is especially for you. Remember the powerful words from Matthew 6:34 about not worrying about tomorrow. I'll even guide you through some deep breathing exercises and remind you that God has a plan. It's time to stop being overwhelmed and instead let your good works overwhelm others. This might be one of my shortest episodes, but sometimes the most powerful messages don't need a lot of words. Tune in, get motivated, and let's start this week right!
